How it works

From open tabs to your mailbox

1

Save

Click the browser extension, forward a newsletter, or paste a link. Inkwell removes the ads, pop-ups, and clutter — keeping just the writing and the images that matter.

2

Fill an issue

Your saved articles queue up toward a 32-page issue. Watch it fill, reorder the lineup, drop what no longer interests you. Every article shows its reading time and page count.

3

Printed & mailed

When your issue is full, preview every page, pick a cover, and approve. A real, saddle-stitched magazine — cover, contents, the works — arrives in your mailbox.

The object

A real magazine, not a stack of printouts

Every issue is typeset in Inkwell’s house style: proper columns, drop caps, pull quotes, and small illustrations that give long reads room to breathe. A table of contents up front. A designed title page for every article, with its author, source, and reading time.

Covers feature the issue’s headliners in bold type, set over art from the world’s open museum collections — or a pattern made just for your issue.

Questions

Frequently asked

What exactly do I get?

A 32-page, saddle-stitched magazine of articles you chose — with a cover, a table of contents, reading-time estimates, and every article properly typeset. It’s printed on demand when your queue fills an issue, and mailed to your door.

What does it cost?

We’re finalizing pricing with our print partner now. It will be a simple monthly subscription that includes one printed issue, with extra issues available whenever your queue runs hot. Join the waitlist and you’ll see pricing before anyone else — and lock in the founding rate.

How long does an issue take to fill?

That’s up to your reading habits — an issue holds roughly ten to fifteen typical articles, or a few long reads. Heavy savers fill one in a week; most people take two to four. When it’s full, we email you a preview. Approve it, or let it print automatically a day later.

Is this legal? These articles are copyrighted.

Inkwell prints a single private copy of content you already have access to, for your own reading — the print equivalent of read-it-later apps like Instapaper or Pocket, or printing an article at home. Issues are never sold, shared, or reproduced beyond your single copy, and publishers can opt out at any time.

Does it work with paywalled articles and newsletters?

If you can read it, Inkwell can print it. The browser extension saves the article as you see it — so subscriptions you’ve paid for come through. Paid newsletters work too: just forward the email.

What happens to the ads and junk?

Gone. Inkwell extracts just the article — text, relevant images, author, and source — and discards the ads, pop-ups, related-content widgets, and cookie banners. You’ll preview every article before it prints, so nothing mangled sneaks into your issue.

Can I choose what goes in each issue, and in what order?

Yes — the queue is yours. Reorder articles, hold some for the next issue, remove anything, and pick the cover before you approve. Or touch nothing and let the issue print itself.

Where do you ship?

The United States at launch. More countries as soon as we can print near you — tell us where you are when you join the waitlist.

When can I get my first issue?

First issues ship to waitlist members this fall. We’re inviting readers in small batches so every early issue is perfect.
